3 Tips To Protect Your Pets In The Event Of A Disaster

We are all aware of the importance of having emergency plans in place in the event of a disaster. Are your pets ready? Here's a quick and easy plan to ensure your pet is safe and ready to go at a moments notice.

1. Have your pet microchipped. This is easy, affordable and can be done on almost any pet.

Ask your vet about microchipping your pet.

2. Have enough pet carriers to transport all your pets.

3. Pack their bag with the following items

A list of nearby boarding facilities and hotels that are pet friendly

Harness or collar and leash

reflective tag

Up to date health records

Vet phone number

Food and water (at least 3-7 days)

Comfort blanket, toys and treats

Poop bags

disinfectant wipes

This list includes most of the things you will need to evacuate with your pet. All our furry family members are different so you may want to add things to their bag. The important thing is that now they are READY TO GO!!!
